High Security Features
When you register a domain name with Domainsatcost.ca, we include FREE High Security (Registrar Lock) and Autorenewal features that protect your domain name(s) from being unintentionally transferred, deleted, or allowed to expire.
High Security
(Registrar Lock) prevents inadvertent or malicious domain name transfers, or modifications by a third party. With High Security (Registrar Lock) enabled, the only way to modify any of the information for a particular domain name is through your password protected account at
https://www.domainsatcost.ca. (Note: Registrar Lock is unavailable for .CA domain names because CIRA does not support this function).
Autorenewal
works by automatically renewing your domain name prior to its expiry date. The information below explains when you would be billed for your Autorenewals using the three billing options available to you.
- Monthly: On the 1st of the month we will renew all domains expiring that following month. Please note domains expiring at the end of the month will be renewed closer to 2 months early, i.e. on July 1st we will renew all domains expiring in August up to and including domains expiring on August 31st.
- Weekly: Starting on Sunday, we will renew all domains expiring from the following Sunday to Saturday. Domains will be renewed anywhere from 7-14 days prior to expiry.
- Daily: We process the renewal for all domains expiring the next day.
Please note: The Autorenewal process requires a valid credit card to be kept on file in your account. You will be notified via e-mail if the Autorenewal transaction is declined for any reason.
The renewal is for a 1 year term and extends the existing registration period. After your domain name(s) have been successfully renewed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
